One Skein Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick™ Yarn
Yardstick or Ruler
Cut 6 pieces of yarn each 2 yards long.
With all 6 pieces together, tie a knot about 1 inch from the end.
Divide into 3 sections and braid the entire length. Tie a knot 1 inch from the end and set aside.
Cut about 10 pieces of yarn 8" long and set aside.
Create pom poms for the mane. Wrap yarn around 3 fingers (2 1/2") about 12 times. Stop and cut off yarn.
Take one of the pre-cut 8" pieces and put it through the wrapped yarn. Tie in an overhand knot. Slip off fingers and cut to form pom pom. Separate the 2 ties from the pom pom and tie in a knot onto the long braid starting in the center.
Continue making pom poms and tying onto base braid until the entire skein has been used. Lion mane should go from chin over head to other side of chin. Check sizing occasionally as you go and cut more 8" pieces as needed.
