Pineapple Costume & Pumpkin

Pineapple Costume

  • Yellow t-shirt
  • 2 yards of yellow ribbon for belt
  • Plastic headband
  • Green ribbon to wrap headband
  • 6 sheets of 12×12 card stock
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Printable pattern and scissors
  • Sunglasses

Pineapple Pumpkin

  • Yellow craft paint
  • Foam brush
  • Sunglasses
  • 6 sheets of 12×12 green card stock
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Printable pattern and scissors
  • Glue Dots®

Directions for Headband:

  1. Wrap headband in green ribbon; glue as you go.
  2. Print pattern and cut out each pattern piece.
  3. From green card stock cut the following pieces (A-4) (B thru E-6) (F-8) and (G-10).
  4. Begin by taking a 6×12” piece of card stock and roll into a tube that will fit the width of the headband and glue along the 6” side of the strip to hold its tube shape.
  5. Starting with the (A) pieces glue them around the top edge of the tube being sure to space them evenly and about 3/4” inch from the top of the tube.
  6. (B) pieces should be glued about 3/4” below the (A) pieces.
  7. Continue moving down the tube about 3/4” below the prior row (the more pieces in the row will mean they should be closer together and even overlap a bit.
  8. Last row should be at the bottom edge of the tube.
  9. Cut a 1/2×5” piece of green card stock and starting at the back glue the strip to cover the raw edges and give a finished look.
  10. Now use a large amount of glue and attach to headband being sure to hold in place till dry and secure.

Pumpkin:

  1. On a covered work surface paint pumpkin 2-3 coats until evenly covered and set aside to dry.
  2. Make stem by cutting a 3×12” strip of card stock and roll into a tube that will fit around the existing stem of the pumpkin and stand up straight, when the size is determined glue the 3” side of the strip to the tube to hold its shape.
  3. From green card stock cut the following pieces (C-6) (D-8) (F-8) and (G-12) NOTE: you may want to adjust number and size of leaves according to the size and shape of your pumpkin.
  4. Starting with (C) pieces glue them around the top edge of the tube being sure to space them evenly and about ½-3/4” from the top of the tube.
  5. Continue with remaining pieces as you did for the headband.
  6. Cut a piece of ribbon or card stock to finish the bottom edge of the tube, glue tube in place over the pumpkin stem.
  7. Sunglasses will stay in place with a Glue Dot® at the bottom of each frame.
